To apply for a trade test, you need:
- Complete N2-qualification
- 4 subjects
- Maths and Relevant Trade Theory
- Any 2 additional, relevant subjects e.g. Science & Technical Drawings
- Electrical Trade Theory (N3) exempts Electro Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics on N2.
* 1 Subject in Gr.11 more than 40% can be switched to N2
** 2 Subjects in Gr.12 more than 40% can be switched to N3
*** merSETA says: 33.3% – 39% on a Gr.12 certificate is acknowledged as N2 and not N3.
The above is compulsory for merSETA, Agriseta, Foodbevseta, TETA and W&R.
- Completed formal institutional training – Phase 1, 2 and 3
- Registered NAMB/SETA learner agreement
- 18 months practical work time – based on the start date of the NAMB/SETA learner agreement)
- College Confirmation Letter – signed by the college (Get one here.)
- Logbook – signed by the college, learner and employer – Example of signed-off logbook)
- NAMB may require a detailed service letter from your employer also.
If you have the above, please make an appointment and bring:
- NAMB/SETA learner agreement
- ID – 2 x originally certified copies
- Highest school qualification – 2 x originally certified copies
- N2 – 2 x originally certified copies
- College Confirmation Letter – signed by the college (Get one here.)
- Logbook – signed by the college, learner and employer – Example of signed off logbook)
- NAMB may require a detailed service letter from your employer also.
